Drupal - an user friendly Content Management Systeem

Druplicon - Drupal LogoDrupal is a Content Management System (CMS). With this CMS you can easily manage a website without being a technical expert! We opted for Drupal for a number of reasons:

We selected Drupal for a number of reasons:

  • Open source: Drupal is open source, meaning that it is developed by a community of developers and that it is made available free of charge. For support, you do not need to contact a company, but you can turn to a community of developers and users..
  • Drupal is actively maintained and improved.
  • Drupal is widely used, also for (very) large websites. This means that the continuity of Drupal is guaranteed. Websites for companies and institutions including the White House, Books for Keepse! Science News, Warner Bros Records and Barnet Elections have been made with Drupal.
  • There are many expansion modules which expand the basic functions of Drupal. These modules can also be added at a later stage. An example of an expansion module is the blog application.
  • The Drupal performance is better than most other open source CMS systems.
  • The development of the website happens (mostly) in Drupal itself. There are no additional tools needed and if you later want to make a structural adjustment you can do this via the website itself.
  • There are many companies that offer Drupal services and knowledge. There is thus no lock-in situation with Buro RaDer.
  • Making small (textual) adjustments is very easy and intuitive.
  • Working with photos and other media is also very straightforward.

A lot of information on Drupal can be found on the Internet. The main site is the official website of Drupal: http://drupal.org. This website contains a lot of information, including, for example manuals, the latest version and expansion modules.

We provide an English manual that describes the basic operations in order to make simple (text /content) modifications. If there are - despite this manual - questions, Buro RaDer will of course be available to answer them.
